2009 INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS COMPETITION WINNERS AND FINALISTS ANNOUNCED.

The votes are tallied and the scores are in...the winners of the International Photography Awards competition were announced last month. With nearly 18,000 submissions from 104 countries, the competition was steep and the images absolutely incredible. The three top winners will be announced at the forthcoming Lucies. Who will take home the cash prizes and the Lucies?

SEVENTH ANNUAL LUCIE AWARDS AT LINCOLN CENTER - MONDAY, OCTOBER 19. TICKETS ON SALE NOW.

Join the Lucie Foundation for the 7th Annual Lucie Awards. We've moved into a new home for this year's show, the beautiful and newly renovated Starr Theatre at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center. This year's honorees include Ara Guler, Gilles Peress, Fazal Sheikh, Jean-Paul Goude, Mark Seliger, Marvin E. Newman, REZA and The W. Eugene Smith Memorial Fund.

In addition to celebrating Master Photographers, we'll also showcase the IPA finalists and the Lucie Awards Support Categories, acknolwedging those in the industry integral to crafting an image, from magazine and book publishers to art directors and curators. Tickets are still on sale at the Lincoln Center website.

PRO'JEKT LA SUMMER SERIES COMES TO A CLOSE WITH
FINAL INSTALLMENT ON SEPTEMBER 24, 2009 AT SPACE 15TWENTY.

Installment number three of The Lucie Foundation's Pro'jekt LA Summer Series showcases curated photographs by Jessie Cowan and ends this seasonal program with a huge bang. Literally. We've lined up two great bands that will play live in front of the projections - Modern Memory and Lost Libraries.

Sounding Still: Photography Capturing The Scenes and Faces of the Music World will feature the photography of Emily Shur, Dan Monick, Piper Ferguson, Aaron Farley and Greg Watermann.
