CALL FOR SUBMISSION - ONE SHOT:THE CITY, A SINGLE IMAGE COMPETITION BY OUR SISTER-EFFORT, THE INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS (IPA). SUBMIT YOUR WORK AND YOU COULD BE INLCUDED IN AN OFFICIAL EXHIBITION OF THE MONTH OF PHOTOGRAPHY LOS ANGELES (MOPLA) 2012.

IPA's second single-image themed competition is One Shot: The City. Submitting your work could land you cash prizes and a the opportunity to exhibit your winning work. Three simple categories - People, Street Photography and Cityscapes. Send in your interpretation of The City by December 15, 2011.

The official kick-off event for Lucie Week is the 2011 International Photography Awards Best of Show, curated by Audrey Landreth, at Splashlight Studios on October 22, 2011. This exhibition features 46 of the winning images from this year's competition beautifully printed by A and I Studios in Los Angeles, California. Excellent photography, drinks, DJ set by Goldick and an awesome raffle valued at over 5K in products and services.

WPO IS COMING BACK TO NEW YORK CITY!

From October 13th to November 12th, a series of events will be hosted at the Chelsea Art Museum, located in the heart of Chelsea, New York City.

The mixed programme of events will include an exhibition of photographs from the 2011 Sony World Photography Awards, a free Student Focus programme, In the Photographers Studio with Alejandro Chaskielberg and Elisabeth Biondi and our workshops 'City Projects' will be taking place for the first time in the US, as well as various other events.

The theme of the workshops will be 'Portrait of a city' and are taking place in New York, Chicago and San Francisco throughout October and November. They have been uniquely designed for budding and established photographers alike. Participants will also be given the exciting opportunity to display their work to a global audience at an exhibition in London next year. There are still places available for New York so book early to avoid disappointment!

Come out to the Opening party of the World Photography Events at the Chelsea Art Museum in New York on Thursday, October 13th at 6pm till 9pm.
